A woman in her 30s at week 29 of her pregnancy, underwent a caesarean birth today (Monday) at Meir Hospital, due to the worsening in the corona ward from which she has been suffering in recent days.
The baby was born successfully and was transferred to continued preterm care in a stable condition.
The mother's condition continues to be difficult and the staff continues to fight for her life.
The woman arrived at the hospital in Kfar Saba and was hospitalized in intensive care.
The decision to give birth to the baby came after a deterioration in the mother's respiratory condition.
A multidisciplinary team consisting of intensive care, anesthesia, neonatal intensive care and midwifery wards performed emergency caesarean section within the protected corona complex of the general intensive care unit, and as mentioned, transferred the infant for further preterm care when stable.
Sink Prof. Tal Biron Chantal, director of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Meir Medical Center, said: "We have managed to get the baby out on time and save her life, and I very much hope that the mother's condition will also improve."
According to Prof. Byron Chantal, "This is definitely a disease that can be significant and difficult. Corona in pregnancy is not a simple matter, we see it over the last two years. Sick women can reach a state where there is no escape from the soul and premature birth, for all its complications, and we certainly hope to see "This epidemic is already behind us and I wish health to both the mother and the baby."
