This year's Super Bowl halftime show was all about hip-hop.
The rap legends Dr.
Dre (left) and Snoop Dogg, who grew up near the finale's Inglewood location, began the show with their joint hits "The Next Episode" and "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang."

Both rapped "California Love," which Dr.
Dre had produced for the early deceased 2Pac.
Viewers were also transported back to the 1990s and early 2000s for the next ten minutes or so.

This is how the whole thing looked from above: three lowriders and several stages for the performances of the stars were ready.

Just hang out: After Dr.
Dre and Snoop Dogg suddenly hung 50 Cent from the ceiling - a reminiscence of the video for his world hit »In da Club«.

The rapper's appearance hadn't been announced beforehand, but it was fitting, of course, because "In da Club" was written by Dr.
Dre co-produced.

Next up was R&B singer Mary J. Blige to take the baton.
She first performed "Family Affair" and then "No More Drama".

The younger Super Bowl spectators were also taken care of.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar made a brief appearance wearing a suit reminiscent of Michael Jackson's.

Eminem then reminded everyone who should have forgotten who the maestro of this show was by then: »Forgot About Dre«.

Meanwhile, Eminem created a moment that may well be discussed in the US.
He copied Colin Kaepernick and got on his knees.
In protest against the oppression of black people and against police violence, the then-quarterback triggered a major debate with this gesture in 2016.
Kaepernick subsequently became persona non grata in the NFL.

Some artists had then canceled the NFL for appearances in the halftime show.
Regarding Eminem's kneeling, a league spokesman said they knew the rapper would make the gesture.
