Departures on vacation: Orange Friday in Ile-de-France, Red Saturday in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, provides Bison smart

Beware of traffic jams: the three school zones, A, B and C, are on vacation this weekend. Routes will be loaded to and from

It's a crossover weekend that is particularly scrutinized on the roads: all the zones are in school holidays, whether they end or start them, which implies heavy traffic due to trips to and from the stations of winter sports.

In Île-de-France, whose holidays begin Friday evening, the day is classified orange in the direction of departures by Bison smart.

A major strike at the RATP is also expected in the region.

Everywhere else, it is green that dominates, whether in the direction of departures or returns.

In the Ile-de-France region, “the first slowdowns may appear from the end of the morning on the A6 motorway between Wissous and Chilly-Mazarin.

They will gradually turn into traffic difficulties from the start of the afternoon, mainly on the A6A, A6B, A86 and A6 motorways.

In the middle of the afternoon, traffic flows corresponding to work-home journeys and weekend departures will increase these difficulties.

The traffic peak should be reached towards the end of the afternoon.

Traffic will remain heavy on the A6 until the end of the evening”, specifies Bison futé.

Traffic will be particularly dense on Saturday February 19, especially on the axes leading to or leaving the winter sports resorts:

▪️ A6: Beaune > Lyon, from 7 a.m. to 1

p.m. ▪️ A40: Mâcon <> Chamonix, from 10 a.m. at 2

On Saturday, the difficulties are concentrated in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

It is classified red, both in the direction of departures and in that of returns.

Sunday, the day is green throughout the territory.

About 8% of French people go to the mountains every two years during the winter holidays, 6% every year.

But this percentage is enough to cause significant disturbances, because a small number of axes are affected by road traffic.
