In other parts of Germany, the storm damage was less spectacular, but caused a lot of trouble for train passengers.

As a precaution, Deutsche Bahn stopped large parts of its long-distance traffic in the north.

Travelers remained seated at train stations.

Travelers at Berlin Central Station:

»The alternative that should be running is not running now either.

Now we have to see.

Probably drive via Braunschweig.

About three hours late.”

»My children, they have no school today, I didn't like to leave them alone.
