Windows burst, water breaks into this ferry on the Elbe in Hamburg.
The ship was on its way to Finkenwerder on Thursday morning and mainly had employees from the aircraft manufacturer Airbus on board.
According to the ferry operator, no one was injured.
All passengers would have left the ship at the destination on foot.
There was no rescue operation.
Placemark: Berlin
In other parts of Germany, the storm damage was less spectacular, but caused a lot of trouble for train passengers.
As a precaution, Deutsche Bahn stopped large parts of its long-distance traffic in the north.
Travelers remained seated at train stations.

The German Weather Service is again warning of hurricane gusts for Friday.
The Hamburg ferries should still run almost according to the regular timetable.
Only the smallest ships are taken out of service as a precaution.
