In the United States, the viral video showing the arrest of a young black man, Z'Kye, is controversial.
Involved last weekend in a fight with a white boy in a New Jersey shopping center, he was violently stopped by police, while the other teenager remained free.
On the images filmed by a witness, we can see the two teenagers arguing, then fighting with their fists.
A few seconds later, two police officers intervene to separate them.
The policewoman sits the young white man on a sofa while his colleague tackles Z'Kye to the ground, before handcuffing him unceremoniously.
“Then the woman came, placed her knee on my upper back and started to help handcuff me while (the other teenager) sat on the bench watching the whole scene,”
The footage caused an uproar on social media.
On Twitter, the governor of New Jersey said he was "deeply embarrassed by what appears to be in this video a separate treatment based on race".
“We need to build trust between those who enforce the law and the people they serve,” he continues.
On Facebook, the Bridgewater Township police announced the opening of an internal investigation to determine the circumstances of the case.
For its part, Z'kye's family has hired civil rights lawyer Ben Crump.
He was notably the lawyer for the family of Trayvon Martin and George Floyd.
