(ANSA) - ANCONA, FEBRUARY 23 - A second appeal but only in relation to the aggravating circumstance of sexual violence for Innocent Oseghale in relation to the death of Pamela Mastropietro, the 18-year-old Roman whose body torn to pieces was found in two trolleys in the Macerata countryside on January 31, 2018: pusher had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Ancona, confirming the first degree sentence.

The Cassation dismissed the appeal of the defendants of the accused relative to the conviction for the crimes of voluntary homicide, insult and destruction of a corpse, but sent the documents to the Court of Appeal of Perugia for sexual violence.

According to Oseghale's lawyers, this could lead to a redetermination of the penalty, which could go down to 30 years.

Among the girl's family there is no hidden disappointment at the decision taken today by the Supreme Court after a few hours in council chamber.

"Pamela's mother is embittered, for her it is a torture" comments the lawyer Marco Valerio Verni, uncle of the girl.

Oseghale met Pamela, who had drifted away from a recovery community, on January 30, 2018, while she was on a drug search.

The two then went to the man's apartment, where the girl died: from an overdose of her according to Oseghale, who has always denied raping her and killing her, admitting, however, that he had torn her body to pieces to get rid of it.

According to the charge, he allegedly abused her while he was under the effect of heroin and then stabbed her to prevent her from reporting him.

The Attorney General had requested the total inadmissibility of the appeal presented by the Osghale lawyers, Umberto Gramenzi and Simone Matraxia.
