The Syrian Virtual University held a graduation ceremony for 360 male and female students from various disciplines at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
The ceremony included honoring the first students and musical pieces performed by the Syrian Chamber of Music Ensemble, led by Maestro Misak Baghboudrian.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Bassam Ibrahim indicated that the virtual university presents a contemporary image of the higher education system in Syria through a digital public university that focuses on the concept of lifelong learning and achieves the principle of digital transformation in education and is based on the model of fourth-generation universities, economy and knowledge, noting that the repercussions of the war The Corona pandemic has proven that virtual education is a basic model of education models, and the virtual university is an important substitute for traditional universities.
The President of the Virtual University, Dr. Khalil Al-Ajmi, stated that the celebration of the graduates is a culmination of the efforts they made during their years of study, and said: “We were keen to provide a learning environment that meets the different needs and capabilities, and to motivate our youth to be more prepared for the future with its challenges and opportunities.”
The Virtual University is an accredited public university that was established in 2002 and includes several disciplines such as informatics engineering, media, information and communication technology, law and economics.
