The care bonus for 2022 is a done deal.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach has now revealed who will receive the corona premium in care and how much.
The traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP had already announced that there should be a care bonus in 2022*.

Who gets the maintenance bonus?
According to Lauterbach, the nursing bonus announced should go to
nursing staff in clinics and nursing facilities
because they were the focus of attention during the Corona crisis.
According to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa), half of the payments should be distributed.
The government wants to make one billion euros available for this and increase the tax exemption for bonus payments to 3,000 euros.

According to dpa, a key issue paper by the Ministry of Health that has become known shows that
a graduated corona bonus of the following amount is to be paid out in
geriatric care :
full-time employees
up to 550 euros,
Personnel who work at least 25 percent
of the working time in direct care / support
(e.g. in administration, building services, kitchen) up to 370 euros,
Apprentices
up to 330 euros,
Helpers
in voluntary service or in the voluntary social year (FSJ)
around 60 euros,
other employees
up to 190 euros.

Premium payment in clinics still unclear
According to the dpa, a bonus is planned for
nurses in clinics
for hospitals that treated more than ten Covid cases with artificial ventilation in 2021.
This affects 837 clinics and around 280,000 nursing staff.
It is still unclear which nursing staff will receive a corona bonus and to what extent - this
should be decided jointly by the clinic operators and the employee representatives
.
“The premiums should primarily be aimed at nursing staff in bedside care.
Nurses in the area of intensive care should receive a higher bonus than nurses in other areas," the dpa quoted from the relevant key issue paper.

Nursing bonus 2022: When will the payment be made?
"The bonus is coming relatively quickly now," Lauterbach said on ZDF.
According to the well-known key point paper, the care bonus in geriatric care should be paid out
from June 30th to December 31st,
2022
at the latest .
It is still unclear whether this payment period also refers to the care bonus in clinics.
