Since its creation, the Château de Maisons has never ceased to be considered one of the finest examples of the classic French château.
Located in the bends of the Seine, not far from Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the residence built by François Mansart (1598-1666) in the first half of the 17th century for René de Longueil, mortar president in the Parliament of Paris, is one of the architect's masterpieces.

Since 2016, the Center des monuments nationaux has been pursuing the restoration, conservation and enhancement of the estate and the Château de Maisons.
It was logical for the institution to invite the Frenchwoman from Helsinki, Laura Gutman, a specialist in Finnish art, already at work at the Jacquemart-André Museum, to celebrate the nature of Akseli Gallen-Kallela, to revive unknown hours in the history of art.
