Two days after a forest fire broke out near Neuschwanstein Castle, the emergency services have the flames under control.
That said Angelo Schädle, the commander of the Pinswang fire brigade in Tyrol.
However, post-extinguishing work is still required until Tuesday.
According to the police, the fire broke out in Pinswang, in the far north of Tyrol.
The location of the fire is in impassable terrain, just a few kilometers as the crow flies from the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle.
35 hectares of forest were affected, the police said.
On average, around 150 emergency services took turns extinguishing the fire.
In addition, five helicopters were used at times.
Bavarian fire brigades also helped out.
From the air was also deleted on Monday.
Three machines were still flying, said fire brigade commander Schädle.
However, the development of flames and smoke could largely be stopped.
The embers will now be extinguished, said Schädle.
Rootstocks would also have to be cut open to find all the nests of embers.
A few days ago, the authorities in Bavaria had warned of an increased risk of forest fires.
Several district governments ordered observation flights in the Free State.
This is intended to detect fires from the air at an early stage.
