The Lower Saxony police stopped an 87-year-old who was driving his wheelchair on the A39.
According to a message, the officers secured the area and brought the man home.
The driver was seen between the Salzgitter-Thiede junction and the Salzgitterhüttenblick service area.
On site, they "actually" came across the 87-year-old and his wheelchair.
The police had the motorized wheelchair towed away.
The man told the police that he had taken a wrong turn and didn't know how to get back.
