(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MARCH 14 - "More than 2,400 civilians have been killed in Mariupol since February 24", with the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This was stated by the EU's high representative for foreign affairs Josep Borrell speaking at a press conference in Skopje.
"In just 17 days 2.6 million Ukrainians have fled. It is the largest movement of people since the end of the world war," he said.
"We will have to be ready to host perhaps 4.5 million Ukrainians. They are already nearly 3 million in two weeks."
"A reporter was killed while filming refugees," Borrell noted. "The best way to honor his legacy is to tell the truth that the Kremlin is trying to hide."
"Putin's war is not only a war on Ukraine but also on international law and our principles".
