A rare weather phenomenon - at least in the Bavarian capital: Dust from the Sahara colored the sky over Munich yellowish-orange on Tuesday.

Southwest winds also carried desert sand to Lower and Upper Bavaria and the Alps.

The sand comes mainly from an area south of the Atlas Mountains.

According to the German Weather Service, the exotic dust could be seen here until Thursday, and its concentration should decrease on Friday.
