A black bear rescued from a Ukrainian sanctuary has moved to Schleswig-Holstein.
The bear lady Malvina arrived safely at the Weidefeld animal protection center of the German Animal Welfare Association on Thursday night, as the association announced.
The animal is now allowed to spend the rest of its life in the enclosure near Kappeln.
New home for the rest of their lives
The seven-year-old black bear was said to have been rushed out of the danger zone along with other bears when Russia's war against Ukraine began.
After a stopover near Lviv in western Ukraine, the bear was brought to Thuringia and finally to Schleswig-Holstein.
According to the information, four brown bears and two black bears already live in the bear enclosure in Schleswig-Holstein.
