The apartment chosen was an old penthouse in Raanana, with 6 rooms, on an area of 150 square meters. The highlight of the house was an extra wide balcony, with an area of 100 square meters.

Old penthouse in Raanana - before the upheaval,

The main challenge: customer demand

The couple insisted on not considering the balcony when renovating, and wanted to focus only on the interior spaces of the apartment and turning the master bedroom into a wide and pleasant suite.

The planners thought that the balcony, especially due to its wide area, must be an integral part of the living space.

Persuading homeowners has become a major challenge in the project.

The planners thought that the balcony should be part of the living space, due to its size.

Before the renovation,

This is how the makeover was designed

The couple and two adult daughters live in the apartment.

The renovation done during the corona year lasted about three and a half months.

The style is eclectic, combining a classic line and rustic and contemporary touches.

The color palette shows a monochromatic base of black, gray and white.

The desire of the planners to maximize the sense of space in the space, led them to produce a repositioning of the kitchen, living room and dining area.

The end result created a wide, open space, which created a blur between the inside and the outside.

The redevelopment plan illustrates to homeowners how significant the renovation will be if they consider the patio space as an integral space of the living area.

Due to its size and strategic location, it is a significant asset and element of the residential experience.

The renovation plan showed customers that the balcony is actually the heart of the house and the idea is to blur the inside and out, and create a connection that will allow the two spaces to influence each other.

They were convinced.

The living space

The living space and the aisles combine CUSTOM MADE carpentry work, such as a wooden library with an iron combination located in the living room, and another similar library, in the hallway, in the passage to the rooms.

The carpentry items and the combination of wood and metal emphasize contemporary design, in an urban tone.

The fireplace was in the apartment before the renovation.

It was decided to leave it and behind it the wall canopy with brick tiles that give a rural hint.

The living space is open and merges with the dining area and kitchen, thus creating a sense of space that the planners sought to create.

The blurring of the boundary between the living room area and the balcony also contributed to the feeling of one large space.

The balcony

The advice of those planning to integrate the balcony as part of the living space, turned out to be one of the most correct recommendations that the couple welcomes even more, after the renovation.

Originally, before the renovation, the porch was filled with synthetic pots and looked less inviting.

During the renovation, a dining area, an outdoor kitchen, a living room, a bar area and plenty of vegetation were planned on the balcony.

For the flooring, porcelain granite tiles with a polished wood look were chosen, with an "anti-slip" finish that is considered anti-slip, and easy to maintain.

This space has become significant in their daily lives.

The kitchen and dining area

One of the couple's requests was a practical design.

Durable and easy-to-maintain materials were chosen for this purpose.

A kind of surface was chosen for the kitchen surface, a very durable material that comes in a variety of looks from natural raw materials.

The wall at the back of the work surface is covered with porcelain tiles with delicate decorations.

Decoratively it is a wall of power, and in practice it is very easy to clean it from splashes of dirt and grease.

A small and compact island has been designed in the kitchen and is surrounded by blue bar stools that add interest and color.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area.

The chosen dining table is round, which serves the family on a daily basis and knows how to expand when guests arrive.

Master room

The master bedroom has been transformed into a spacious suite with a wide bed, a bathroom and an array of zero-line closets with integral handles that maintain a uniform and flat look.

To produce size and space, the master room plan also included the room that serves as a study.
