Many people discourage pasta after cooking.
However, dousing with cold water is not always ideal.

No wonder so many people love to eat pasta.
But not all of them know whether or not the popular side dish should be deterred after cooking, as RUHR24* reports.

Do not be put off by pasta: For these reasons, amateur cooks should avoid it
Whether it's pasta, fusilli, penne or spaghetti, many hobby cooks are convinced that the hot pasta has to be rinsed under cold water.
This is to prevent the popular side dish from clumping together.
According to Öko-Test, however, deterring is not a good idea in most cases.
Because this also rinses off the slightly sticky starch film on the pasta, which can be useful for consumers.
This ensures that the sauce sticks to the pasta.
Even those who want to roll their spaghetti around the fork will have a hard time without the starch film (more lifehacks* at RUHR24).
Exception when quenching noodles: when the noodles should be put under cold water
When preparing a pasta salad, on the other hand, it is advisable to quench the pasta.
Because they don't get so mushy and cool down much faster.
This has the advantage that the salad can be prepared immediately and is ready quickly.
If you want to save your pasta dish and eat it later, you can also pour cold water over the pasta beforehand.
By rinsing off the starch, the noodles won't stick together as much, even after a few hours.
But caution is advised, because consumers should under no circumstances place the sieve in the sink*.
Don't put off pasta: Insider tip for pasta water - avoid clumping with this trick
But there is another trick to keep the pasta from clumping.
According to the consumer center, part of the cooking water is kept and then poured back over it.
"The starch in the cooking water also binds sauces, so that liquid variants are also easy to eat," it continues.

Pasta water is also a multi-talent in the household* in other respects, which is why consumers should under no circumstances throw it away.
The water can be used as a cleaning agent, among other things.
