The soul music singer and American actress was once again present, as a guest this time, for the big return of Ralph Lauren to the New York runways.
True to his legend, the sacred monster of American fashion has seen things big, without ostentation but with the distanced elegance that characterizes him.
It is at the Museum of Modern Art that he has chosen to present his fall winter 2022 collection in a room recreating his house universe: refined architecture, sculptural design, art objects and spectacular view of the Big Apple.

“Intimate experience”
So many beautiful people for a show opening with jazzy notes and a Gigi Hadid at the best of her famous hair flip (hair movement already used on a Jacquemus show), in a white shirt under a black sweater with the monogram RL tucked into fitted pants, oversized Ricky bag in hand.
"My Fall/Winter collection pays homage to the timeless black and white style embodied in sleek silhouettes for both men and women," says Ralph Lauren in his note of attention which he also kicks off with these words "When I decided, several months ago to launch my collection as part of this intimate experience, the war in Ukraine did not exist... So, in the midst of this sadness, we move forward united by the hope of finding peace.

Glamorous and refined
To enhance his dressing room with minimalist chic punctuated by sportswear, the designer called on a starry cast mixing various generations of tops - Bella Hadid, Shalom Harlow, Tyson Beckford, the face and main male model of the Polo Ralph Lauren ads of the 90s- and a sublime Lætitia Casta, with a devastating charm in a pleated sequined black ankle-length dress with sleeves dropped to the shoulders.
There is also Vittoria Cerreti, just as beautiful at the end of the parade, in a black tuxedo, Yankees cap on her head and baseball jacket draped over her shoulders.
Pure Ralph Lauren, mixing refined tailoring (the women's suits and ties and long Prince of Wales coats are to die for), pants and jackets with banker or houndstooth stripes inspired by men's wardrobe, sweaters refined with Fair Isle patterns,
US sporty touches and for the evening, long sleek cocktail dresses that are as glamorous as they are sensual.
A long graphic melody in black and white punctuated with jackets or coats in red tartan, a subtly sophisticated collection that calms the spirits while awakening desires.
In the end, Ralph Lauren, 82, comes to greet, and the whole assembly rises to give him a well-deserved standing ovation.
