A couple of parents of three adolescent children lived in a detached house in Kiryat Ono.
The corona made them realize that the interior of the house was not suitable for them: from a family that spent most of its day outside the apartment, the five family members moved to work and study from home.
The renovation they sought to carry out was intended to produce a better fit for a life in which the home is the center.

From a patchwork look to a cozy and inviting look,
The main challenge
Before the renovation there was a feeling that the house was designed as in "firefighting", the furniture items were placed almost randomly in the space, there was no connection between the things and what was obtained was a patchwork look.
The house suffered from a lack of adequate storage solutions, which created life within a clutter of items.
The desire was to create a connecting thread and a harmonious flow that would be pleasing to the eye.
In addition, the caravan has sharpened the possibility of working from home, and the fact that sometimes a long stay within its walls can be imposed on us.
This insight was the catalyst for renovation right now.
One of the main challenges in the renovation was to create a pleasant, homely, family feeling and yet comfortable to conduct even when one has to study and work.
The desire was to create a less messy and more orderly look in the eye,
This is how the makeover was designed
The living room
The layout plan has been fundamentally changed - the furniture items and the location of the TV in the space, so that instead of sitting on the couch with his back to the garden, today the occupants of the house sit with their faces outside.
A large library set up in the living room contains plenty of storage space, while maintaining an airy look by leaving the top and bottom open.
The decorative light fixtures have created a formal interest that attracts attention but in a way that does not take over.
The furniture items were chosen from light natural oak, and a central sofa in a light gray shade was added.
The integral fireplace creates a minimalist look, important in its contribution to the warmth of the space.
Before the renovation the look was dense and messy,
Soft colors of natural wood, gray and terra cotta shades, create warmth and a pleasing appearance to the eye,
Hybrid space
The central space combines a living room and a study.
The partition between the two spaces is by means of glass partitions with a Belgian profile, which open and close as needed.
The office can be an integral part of the living room, and can also be detached from it.
By the time guests arrive, the space could become a guest room.
The tenants wanted a study where they would not see all the clutter, so the designer chose to place a library with open and closed compartments, which allow them to comfortably store the contents of the office and create a neat and permanent look.
The office desk faces the nature outside, as opposed to the original situation where the desk is placed with its back to the outdoor areas.

The dining area and kitchen
The dining area next to the living room was one of the examples of patches and stacking of styles that characterized the house before the renovation.
The new corner borders the kitchen and living room and corresponds with the two parts harmoniously, both in terms of color and materiality.
The kitchen, which was in the shape of an "R", became a kitchen with two parallel lines, which created a wider work surface and allows for more comfortable operation.

Home work areas
The redesign of the family home was as stated, under the understanding of the great importance created by the corona, to produce for each member of the household his own work area.
In the children's rooms, the position plan was changed.
Desktops and cabinets have been designed that combine open and closed storage.
Instead of creating patches of shelves and cabinets, the designer created a single set of floor-to-ceiling cabinets, which incorporate shelves, which provide maximum storage space.
The son's room was without storage solutions and without the ability to concentrate on studies,
After the renovation, the son's room became an organized and orderly room that created an optimal study environment,
Master room
The master room was transformed from a crowded space that included a large work area and equipment, which made the overall look look constantly messy, into a spacious space, full of storage solutions, within an array of cabinets that created a uniform and neat front.
The work area that came out of the room cleared an important place in it, and now a clean-looking wooden dresser has been erected on the site.
