The police in Baden-Württemberg are investigating a dispute over cooking oil that was apparently about to turn violent.
According to a message, the incident occurred in a supermarket in Asperg in the Ludwigsburg district.
Five people, who probably belonged to a family, wanted to buy more cooking oil than the store allowed.
Apparently, the cashier didn't want to allow that, so she was shouted at by two men from the group.
When leaving the market, the men threatened the woman, according to the report.
Armed with a rolling pin
A colleague of the employees followed the group – he armed himself with a rolling pin.
He confronted the customers in front of their vehicle.
The two men in the group grabbed decorative stones, after which the 36-year-old withdrew.
The customers would then have left the parking lot.
The police are investigating for threats.
Sunflower oil in particular is in short supply because it comes from Russia and Ukraine - and is currently hardly being supplied due to the war.
Several chains have already rationed the tax.
