(ANSA) - BRESCIA, MARCH 25 - Acquitted in the first instance because he is affected by the pathology of delirium of jealousy, he is instead capable of understanding and wanting for the attorney general who asked for the sentence on appeal.

Twenty-one years in prison.

This is the request of the Attorney General of Brescia Guido Rispoli in the face of Antonio Gozzini, 81 years old who in October 2019 killed his wife, the teacher Cristina Maioli, in Brescia.

The man was acquitted by the Court of Assizes after the defense counsel and the prosecutor argued that he was suffering from a delusion of jealousy.

"His pathological jealousy -said the attorney general of Brescia in the courtroom-had not emerged before the murder. It was only talked about afterwards, only in an attempt to find a cause of non-punishment".

Gozzini's defense instead asked for confirmation of the acquittal.

(HANDLE).
