(ANSA) - AVELLINO, MARCH 25 - The death toll from an accident involving four cars on the A16 Naples-Canosa in the section between the Tufino tollbooth and the Caserta-Rome branch, towards Naples, is of one dead and three seriously injured of the municipality of Casamarciano (Naples).
The victim is a forty-year-old resident in the province of Naples.
The three injured were hospitalized in serious condition in the 'Moscati' hospital in Avellino.
According to an initial reconstruction of the Polstrada di Avellino, the accident was caused by the slowdown due to a previous rear-end collision, with a slightly injured person, tradue auto.
The intervention of the Fire Brigade of the Avellino detachment was necessary to free the car involved in the accident, who were stuck in the metal sheets.
The motorway section was closed to traffic to allow rescue operations and was reopened, on a single lane in the direction of the Campania capital, shortly after 9pm. (ANSA).
