British singer Tom Parker is dead. This was announced by his band, The Wanted, on their official Instagram account on Wednesday.

Parker suffered from an inoperable brain tumor.

Despite the illness, he had appeared with his four colleagues on a reunion tour until the end.

Parker was 33 years old.

The other band members of The Wanted were devastated by the "tragic and premature loss".

Parker died "peacefully surrounded by his family and bandmates" around noon on Wednesday, the statement said.

Parker, who hails from the North West of England, announced in October 2020 that he was suffering from an inoperable brain tumour.

He underwent treatment and went on a reunion tour with the band in March.

His bandmates declared after his death: »He was our brother.

Words cannot express the loss and sadness we feel.«

Parker was married to actress Kelsey Hardwick and the couple have two young children.

One of them was born after his cancer diagnosis.

"I'll be here," he told the magazine "OK!" at the time.

"I'll fight it."

»Tom was the center of our world«

Hardwick wrote on Instagram that her heart was broken.

»Tom was the center of our world and we cannot imagine life without his contagious smile and energetic presence.«

Formed in 2009, The Wanted had two UK number one hits, 'All Time Low' and 'Glad You Came'.

Numerous celebrities offered their condolences on Wednesday, including pop star Ed Sheeran and Take That's Howard Donald.
