The Ukrainian president said that “new sanctions against Russia are necessary” and called for “any commercial activity

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said late Thursday morning that "strong new sanctions are needed against Russia", calling for "all commercial activity with Russia [to be] completely stopped" on the 36th day of the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

Early Thursday afternoon, Vladimir Putin meanwhile announced that buyers of Russian gas from “unfriendly” countries will have to have accounts in rubles as of Friday.

Ukrainian President Zelensky addressed the Australian parliament during a speech via video link.

“New sanctions against Russia are necessary.

Strong penalties.

As long as it has not renounced nuclear blackmail, the blockade of the sea, Russia will have to pay a high price.

No Russian ships should be allowed to enter the ports of the free world.

Buying Russian oil is paying for the destruction of the foundations of global security.

All commercial activity with Russia must be completely stopped.

Not a dollar to destroy people.
