With the new Infection Protection Act, the corona vaccination status will probably also change.

The federal government is planning radical changes.

Munich – Although the number of new corona infections in Germany is currently increasing again, several corona rules will no longer apply from the first weekend in April.

With the new Infection Protection Act, which will come into force in the federal states after the transition phase on April 2nd, the rules for the immune status will apparently also change from October 2022.

Anyone who is not boosted could then possibly be considered unvaccinated.

Corona vaccination status will probably change - who is then no longer considered vaccinated

According to a report by “Zeit”, the federal government is said to have planned in its draft law that from October only people who have been vaccinated three times will be considered “fully vaccinated”.

According to this, people vaccinated twice against the coronavirus* would lose their vaccination status as fully vaccinated from October 1st.

Currently, people with two vaccine doses without a booster vaccination are basic immunized and therefore have the status "fully vaccinated".

Corona vaccination status: recovered, vaccinated, boosted - these deadlines currently apply

Currently, people who have been vaccinated twice lose their immune status after nine months (270 days).

Anyone who has received a booster vaccination is considered “boosted” for an indefinite period.

However, those who have been boosted must also take care of a new digital vaccination certificate, as this expires for technical reasons*.

According to the current rules, those who have recovered lose their immune status after six months (180 days).

According to the new draft law, however, there will also be changes for those who have recovered.

From October, one recovery is equivalent to one vaccination.

Thus, those who have recovered need two doses of vaccine to be considered "fully vaccinated".

Corona: How to prove your recovery from October

In order to be able to prove recovery, an antibody test before the first vaccination is sufficient.

People who contract corona before or after the second vaccination dose must be able to present a positive PCR test result that is at least 28 days old, a quarantine request or proof of quarantine.

Until the end of September, those who have recovered with only one vaccination are considered "fully vaccinated" if they can show evidence of recovery.

From October, the deadlines for vaccinated people will also change.

Watch out!

Anyone who has only been vaccinated twice could automatically be considered unvaccinated

While those who have recovered will continue to lose their immune status after 180 days and those who have been vaccinated three times are considered "boosted" indefinitely, those who have been vaccinated twice will automatically lose their vaccination status from October 1st.

From this point on, citizens must therefore pay particular attention to their current vaccination status.

The immune status will become relevant when 3G or 2G access restrictions take effect again in autumn.

With a 2G regulation, those who have been boosted will still have access, but those who have been vaccinated twice will no longer have access.

With 3G, a person who has been vaccinated twice would then need a daily rapid test.

From April, however, many restrictions will be lifted for the time being.

Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (59, SPD) also calls for an end to the Corona rules*.

And that, although he recently expected a summer wave *.
