Hardly anything works at the train stations in the Netherlands: On Sunday, the country's rail traffic largely collapsed.
The state railway company NS said the reason was a technical fault that will probably last until at least 8 p.m.
Hard work is being done to fix it.
"We strongly advise against traveling or, if you are already travelling, looking for other travel options," the NS website said.
Accordingly, display boards at the stations could no longer display correct information about train connections.
Travelers to Germany stranded at train stations
According to the information, the trains of smaller regional railway companies ran normally.
International trains are also not affected, explained NS.
In contrast, Dutch media reported that many people with foreign destinations, including Germany, were stranded at the main train stations in Amsterdam and Utrecht.
