Nine tourists had a good scare this Saturday, April 2, when their van fell into the Prinsengracht, one of the canals of the capital of the Netherlands.
Their van probably tipped over in the water as the driver tried to park alongside the dock.
Seeing the dispatch rider sink, with some of the occupants trapped, a 29-year-old passer-by jumped into the water to open the front passenger door and allow some of the tourists to get out of the vehicle.

“I was having lunch and suddenly I heard a loud splash with shouting.
I looked out the window and saw the van in the water.
Fortunately, everyone got out of the car unscathed, but it could have been much worse,” said neighbor Jasper Berden, who filmed the scene from his balcony.
Rescuers transported two people to hospital with a wrist injury and a cut.
The other survivors were herded into a cafe for warmth as they suffered from hypothermia.
