The actress attended, on Saturday April 2, the premiere of this new series during the Canneséries Festival. She embodies an astronaut “in the reconquest of herself”. Maintenance.

"It was good yesterday ?

she launches us cheerfully, on this morning of Sunday, April 3.

What time did you go to bed?"

The evening before, Céline Sallette for her part celebrated until 2 am the screening of her

Infiniti

show , as part of the Canneséries Festival, at the Palais des Festivals.

“I was very happy to see the first two episodes on this mythical, magical screen, in this room which has carried so many immense films,” she confided to

Madame Figaro

.

In this intriguing series, signed Stéphane Pannetier and Julien Vanlerenberghe, released on Canal+ on Monday April 4, the actress plays Anna Zarathi, an astronaut "reconquering herself".

An unusual role for the actress, who spoke to our microphone about her fascination with space – but also the preparation necessary for this shoot and her love… for Sandra Bullock.

Who is Anna, your character in the

Infiniti

series ?

Celine Sallette.

Anna is a failed woman whose biggest dream is to go into space.

At the start of the series, we understand that she caused a rocket to stop taking off because she felt unwell.

She was later replaced by her second.

It is a character who will, after this failure, go to the reconquest of herself.

Celine Sallette

What did you initially like about this project?

What I liked was the extraordinary challenge that this shoot represented.

First, I studied English for three months.

Then I followed a fairly intense physical preparation, not to be a bodybuilder, but to strengthen myself.

This project also allowed me to travel in zero gravity, thanks to cables installed by the Ukrainian team.

Awareness

This is the first time that you play an astronaut and officiate in a series taking place partly in space.

How did you feel about playing this role?

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to talk to Claudie Haigneré, one of the first French women to go into space.

His story is proof that this is above all a human experience.

Space is one of the most terrifying areas imaginable.

Claudie Haigneré told me that during her first take-off, she had closed her eyes.

She also told me about the

overview effect

, a syndrome that all astronauts experience when looking at Earth from space.

They all come back with this awareness, almost ecological but deeply intimate, of the fragility of the planet, of its beauty and of the fact that this space in which we live in harmony must absolutely be protected.

A mystical series

You were talking earlier about Sandra Bullock in

Gravity.

What is the film or series set in space that particularly marked you?

Honestly, I think

Infiniti

is a wonderful blend of everything that fascinates me about how we use space.

Firstly because this series conveys a message: when we observe the Earth from space, we realize that it is precious.

Then, because the show begins with an investigation to go towards what for me is pure poetry and metaphor.

It's a series that talks about all the dimensions there are in us, which version of ourselves we can conquer.

There is a very powerful mystique that I loved.

Infiniti

is a series that speaks of all the dimensions that are in us

Celine Sallette

What does it bring you to play in a series, unlike a film?

What it gives me is to be able to explore a character, a story, and develop it.

Infiniti

is a series that is thought of as a film, a great six-hour journey.

During filming, we spent two and a half months in Ukraine.

We discovered some great locals, super lively and talented.

We think of them very often during the promotion of the series.

We also went to Kazakhstan.

We discovered this crazy territory, also carrying a very great spirituality.

Kazakhstan is both archaic and modern.

We take off from Baikonur, even today, to go into space.

It is a country in which resonate two very great forces of humanity: our esoteric power and our dream of stars, scientific and rational.
