US sanctions Hydra, the largest Russian dark web platform

(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, APRIL 05 - The US has sanctioned Hydra, the largest Russian-language dark web platform in the world, and the virtual exchange currency Garantex.

This was announced by the US State Department, underlining that it is a measure that follows an operation by the German police against the same platform.

    "Today's action - coordinated with our allies and partners - blocks the infrastructure for ransom cyber attacks, as well as the actors and targets of virtual currency abuse to launder payments," the department explained.
