Corona infection: Quarantine is only voluntary from May 1st

While there was previously a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days, it should be voluntary from May 1, according to the federal government.

And the isolation?

Berlin – Do you suspect that you have come into contact with the corona virus or an infected person, or do you know for sure from a PCR test that you are corona positive?

Then the existing rules for quarantine and isolation still apply to you.

From May 1, 2022, the mandatory provisions are to be lifted and it is up to you whether or not to isolate yourself after a positive corona test.

At least that was the initial decision of the federal government.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) supports this decision, which aims to reduce economic losses.

In both cases, it is important to know what you can do with your employer regarding sick leave if you are infected with the corona virus.
