- Sean Penn would like to return to Ukraine with his aid organization and even admitted that he has considered taking up arms against Russia.
Interviewed by Hollywood Authentic, the 61-year-old actor, who at the beginning of the conflict was in Ukraine to sign a documentary and then was forced to flee on foot to the Polish border due to the worsening of the situation, stressed that however, he is aware that at the moment he does not know what to offer the Ukrainian people other than to fight alongside them.
"If you've been to Ukraine - he explained - your thoughts (fight, ed.) Do you think, what century is this? I was at a service station in Brentwood (in the state of New York, ed) the other day and I thought about taking up arms against Russia? What the f ... is going on? ".
He also added that last time it would make sense for him to stay longer in Ukraine with just a rifle in hand and without a bulletproof vest because it would have been better to give it to a civilian or an experienced fighter.
Penn also recalled meeting with President Zelensky the day before the Russian invasion and being with him one day during the conflict.
