A few clashes erupted between the police and a hundred students at the Place de la Sorbonne, this Tuesday, April 14.
The demonstrators were trying to prevent the installation of metal barriers around the faculty while a large police force deployed around noon all around the building.
Tear gas was used to disperse the crowd.
“There are a hundred students who are still inside the Sorbonne.
No one can come in or out,” said a student after calm returned.
"The problem is that they have nothing to eat, we came to bring provisions for those who spent the night here," she continues.

"Neither Macron nor Le Pen": the Panthéon-Sorbonne University occupied by students
For 24 hours, students have occupied the Sorbonne to protest against the result of the first round of the presidential election.
"Macron and Le Pen in the second round, it's tough.
The institutions do not allow us to have a good democratic expression,” said a protester.
“Young people do not feel represented by the candidates,” adds a student.
Computers, chairs and fire extinguishers were thrown from the windows of the Sorbonne.
“Most of the people inside do not support the violence and degradation that has been committed”, assures a young demonstrator.
