Increasingly sunny but also slightly cooler weather is expected in Germany over the Easter weekend.
“It's Easter egg-hunting weather.
The eggs will not melt because it is too warm, nor will they be hidden by snow or get wet from rain,” said Andreas Friedrich from the German Weather Service (DWD).
Instead, there is sunshine and a few harmless clouds.
But it should also be cooler than in the past few days.
While the sky in the north-east is still often gray on Good Friday and there can also be light drizzle, in the rest of the country the sun usually appears in addition to the clouds.
In the south-west in particular, it will sometimes be clear with temperatures of up to 20 degrees.
22 degrees can be reached on the Upper Rhine, while in the northeastern half it is only 8 to 15 degrees.
There may be showery rain in some areas of the Alps.
It will remain dry on Easter Sunday
On Holy Saturday the sky clears up quickly and it gets sunnier and sunnier.
According to the forecasts, there will only be denser clouds and a few showers at the edge of the Alps.
Otherwise the weather is mostly clear with highs of around 13 degrees in the eastern half and 15 to 19 degrees in the western half.
It stays cooler on the coasts and in the mountains.
On Easter Sunday the sun often shines and it stays dry.
The temperatures will climb to 12 to 16 degrees in the eastern half, otherwise 15 to 20 degrees, with the highest values along the Rhine.
Sunshine is also expected on Easter Monday, with a few clouds in the sky.
