Today, the Ministry of Education organized a virtual meeting via the electronic platform with directors of education and schools of excellence in the governorates to present the importance of school debates in terms of building personality, developing students' skills, and exchanging opinions and experiences to develop the experience.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, indicated that the ministry was keen to make the modern curricula interactive in a way that develops the student’s abilities to analyze and think, which supports the abilities of students wishing to participate in school debates, explaining that in cooperation with the Excellence and Creativity Authority, work is being done to expand this experience to include all outstanding schools, then The rest of the schools and the organization of a national competition to be a nucleus for participation in international competitions.
Member of the Authority’s Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Debating Committee, Thaer Laham, indicated that there is an introductory guide to the concept of debate and a training manual, and a guide for arbitration is being prepared, pointing out that work is underway to launch the “Peace Challenge” tournament soon among a number of school teams of outstanding students, and the winning teams will move to participate in the national championship next June. .
In turn, the directors of education and schools of outstanding students in the governorates gave presentations on the reality of the debates and the participating teams, and reference was made to studying the possibility of setting up camps to exchange experiences among students.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Hammad, and the head of the Excellence and Creativity Authority, Eng. Hala Al-Daqqaq.
