A woman from North Rhine-Westphalia was annoyed that Easter decorations disappeared from her deceased husband's grave year after year.
The 65-year-old then provided an Easter bunny with a GPS transmitter and was thus able, together with the police, to convict an allotment gardener as a suspected thief.
The woman had attached the transmitter to a clay rabbit, according to the police in Gelsenkirchen.
When the decorative rabbit disappeared from the grave on Sunday, she was able to track down the missing item using an app in an allotment garden not far from the cemetery.
Police officers grabbed the stolen goods on the property of the 72-year-old allotment gardener and brought the Easter bunny back to the owner.
This filed a criminal complaint against the senior from Gelsenkirchen.
