The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard opened on April 11 in court in Fairfax, Virginia.
The actor accuses his former wife of defamation from a column published in the
Washington Post
in 2018, where she presented herself as a victim of domestic violence.
As such, he claims 50 million dollars.

If he did not deny the disputes within the couple, including “degrading insults”, he mainly attributed them to his ex-wife.
“It felt like pure hate to me,” he said.
And to add: “If I stayed to argue with her, I was sure that it would degenerate into violence, and it often did.”

For the 58-year-old actor, it is therefore up to Amber Heard to explain the violence that there was in their home.
He explained that he often received slaps from her or shoves.
During an argument, she also allegedly "threw a bottle of vodka at his hand, cutting his middle finger to the bone."
“She has a need for violence that comes out of nowhere,” he continued.

Amber Heard defended herself by explaining that she only threw objects “to escape when he beat her”.
The latter also confessed to having hit Johnny Depp, but again, she assured that it was only to defend herself because “she was afraid that he would push her down the stairs”.
Blood stain and nail polish
Johnny Depp has reported a manipulative episode on the part of Amber Heard.
As he tried to calm her down during a fit of violence, putting his arms around her to contain her, their two foreheads reportedly collided.

To close his testimony, the movie star explained that the accusations of his former companion had cost him “everything”, placing him in a state of “finished” man.
“When these allegations went around the world, telling people I was a danger, drunk, on cocaine, a man who, suddenly in my 50s, beat women, it was over.
I was finished,” said the star.
And to conclude: “I lost at that time.
Regardless of the outcome of this trial, I will wear this for the rest of my life."
