(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 21 - The President of the Senate, MariaElisabetta Alberti Casellati, received the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, the youngest president and the first woman in office in her country, on an official visit to Rome.
The excellent bilateral relations were at the center of the conversation;
the development of the conflict in Ukraine;
the condemnation of the violation of human rights and violence against the civilian population; the humanitarian emergency in progress.
The President of the Senate thanked the President for Slovakia's commitment to welcoming and supporting refugees.
"In your reception centers there is also a bit of Italy" added President Casellati, recalling the refugee camp built in Michalovce by the Italian Civil Protection and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and handed over to the Slovak authorities, "a concrete example of shared collaboration and solidarity" .
