(ANSA) - BEIJING, APRIL 24 - In the midst of the lockdown in Shanghai, the Covid alarm is now rising in Beijing: all the people who live and work in the Chaoyang district, the heart of the capital, will be tested on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The state network CCTV reported on the decisions of the health authorities after the city of over 23 million inhabitants saw a leap in local cases focused on Chaoyang.
In the count since April 22, the district has ascertained 26 of the 41 total of the city.
"Preliminary epidemiological findings showed that the virus was ignored for a week," authorities said.
