Gazprom will cut off gas supplies to Poland via the Yamal pipeline from tomorrow morning after Warsaw refused to pay them in rubles.
A note from the Polish operator of the plant explains that it has received a notification from the Russian company that supplies will be 'totally interrupted' from 8am tomorrow in Moscow.
The announcement sent gas prices soar on European markets.
The rumors about Russia's decision led to an acceleration in the price of gas on European markets during the day: methane, which was rather calm throughout the afternoon, shot up to 107 euros per megawatt hour, with a maximum increase 17% compared to yesterday, on the hypothesis of a stop or a slowdown in supplies from Russia to Poland.
The price of gas on the reference price list in Amsterdam then tried to settle around 100 euros.
