From the musical director as well as from the orchestra.
When I talk about the geography of the orchestra, I often compare it to a village.
Well, I feel a bit like the grandmother of this village: it's very important that everyone feels they can rely on me.
You need authority, diplomacy, but also the conviction that you are somewhat the guarantor of the spirit of the orchestra.
In this case, I would say a mix of clarity and responsiveness.
At the time, I was still struggling to understand how I could influence the sound of the winds.
