Five people died, including two children, in a series of fires in Russian territory that hit several villages in the Krasnoyarsk area (central-south): the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced this, reports the Interfax agency.
Two people died in the villages of Novorkursk, where 15 buildings are burning, and in Nikolsk, where another 20 buildings are burning.
Three other people, including the two children, died in the village of Talazhanka, where 16 buildings are on fire.
For the moment there is no information on the causes of the fires.
The fires that broke out in several districts of the Russian region of Krasnoyarsk
were caused by short circuits
due to inverted cables and the collapse of a power line caused by strong winds, the regional agency for civil protection and emergency situations announced today. .
"Short circuits due to reversed cables and a collapsed power line due to strong winds of up to 40 m / s have caused fires in various districts of the territory", reads a statement taken up by the Interfax agency.
The authorities have declared a state of emergency in several regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory due to the fires.
