Giro: second stage in Yates, Van der Poel still in pink

Simon Yates won the 2nd stage of the 105th Giro d'Italia, the Budapest-Budapest time trial of 9.2 km.

    Second place for the Dutch Mathieu Van der Poel who keeps the pink jersey won yesterday in the first stage.

Third place for Tom Dumoulin and fourth the Italian Matteo Sobrero.

Yates (BikeExchange - Jayco) won with a time of 11.50.41.

    Behind him, at 00.03 Van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix), Tom Dumoulin (Jumbo-Visma) at 00.05.

Well Vincenzo Nibali, who finished in 12th place, just 19 ″ from the top, ahead of Edoardo Affini.

    Tomorrow the third and final stage in Hungary, the 201 km Kaposvár-Balatonfüred.

Then the pink caravan will move to Sicily.
