Actor Fred Savage, who is remembered by TV viewers as the child Kevin Arnold in the popular youth series "The Magic Years", has been fired as chief producer and director of the new "Magic Years" series being filmed these days, in light of accusations of misconduct.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that three different charges have been leveled against Savage and that an investigation has been conducted into the matter.
A statement from the AMC network said: "After an investigation, we have decided to end his employment as Chief Producer and Director in 'The Magic Years'."
No further details are currently known about the nature of the allegations, but according to Deadline, they included verbal outbursts and inappropriate behavior on the set.
According to sources, Savage fully cooperated with the investigation.
This is not the first time the player has been accused of problematic behavior.
About two years ago he was accused of creating a hostile work environment on the set of the Fox network's series 'The Grinder'.
The allegations on the subject were investigated, but no findings were found that indicate any problematic conduct of the actor and producer.
Savage, 45, was 12 when he starred in the original series, which hit screens in 1988 and ended in 1993.
"The Magic Years" gracefully described the experiences of an average American family in the '60s and' 70s, from the perspective of Kevin, a child and later an adolescent boy.
A sequel series takes place in those years, focusing on a black family living in Montgomery, Alabama.
