The district of Scampia will host the new work with which the city of Naples will pay homage to Diego Armando Maradona.
At the moment the exact place has not yet been identified.
The monumental work will be created by Stefano Ceci, manager of Maradona, who is already responsible for the statue that is placed inside the stadium named after the champion.
The work will depict Maradona's left foot, it will be three-dimensional.

In this way, the statue of Maradona will be the collective heritage of the fans not only inside the stadium but in the city and bringing it to Scampia is a sign of redemption of one of the neighborhoods that have the greatest difficulties in the collective imagination ''.
The occasion to announce this next project was the delivery to the mayor by Ceci of a miniature of the statue depicting Maradona which is inside the stadium.
'' In this building on 5 July 2017 Maradona was awarded honorary citizenship - recalled Ceci - and therefore I decided to pay homage to the mayor with the same statue already donated to Calcio Napoli and thus kept the promise that I made that day to Diego ''.
In the Sala Giunta of Palazzo San Giacomo, also present the president of Calcio Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, who received as a gift a limited edition reproduction of Maradona's left foot: '' Diego does not need to be commented,
