Danger from plastic parts: IKEA recalls strawberry jam - and explains the reason for contamination

IKEA is recalling a certain batch of its strawberry jam because plastic particles got into the jars.
Which products are affected and how the contamination came about.
Munich – With this spread, breakfast bread can become a hazard: IKEA's "Sylt Jordgubb Strawberry Jam Organic 400g" is contaminated.
Small pieces of plastic got into some glasses.
The furniture company is therefore recalling some batches of the jam – and explains how the contamination could have happened.
According to IKEA, it wants to offer its customers only high-quality products that have been manufactured in a responsible manner.
"Without compromising on food safety or quality." Nevertheless, the Swedish company has now discovered that plastic particles have crept into some jars during jam production.

of March 1, 2023, March 2, 2023

As the group reports, the products can be returned for a refund of the full purchase price – even without a receipt.
And IKEA also explains how the plastic got into the jam: "The plastic parts come from broken containers that were used to pick the strawberries." The group apologizes to all customers for the inconvenience.
However, it is questionable whether the customers will combine the return of the jam with an extensive shopping tour through the furniture store.
After all, IKEA has raised its prices significantly.
Groceries are repeatedly recalled in Germany
Despite the strict hygiene regulations and strict production controls, food is repeatedly recalled in Germany.
The recall of more than 3,000 tons of "kinder" chocolate from the Italian chocolate producer Ferrero was particularly serious: A manager has now spoken for the first time about the extent of the damage.
