Two vacationers from Germany are in prison in Mallorca because they are said to have raped a 22-year-old.
After the arrest of the two men on Playa de Palma, the judge on duty ordered the two suspects to be held in custody on Thursday, reports the newspaper Ultima Hora, among others.
The spokesman for the Mallorcan police confirmed the information to the dpa news agency.
The rape is said to have happened on Wednesday in a hotel on Ballermann.
According to official information, the alleged victim is a 22-year-old who also comes from Germany and was on vacation on the island.
The young woman appeared at the police station on Playa and wept about the rape.
"Ultima Hora" reports, citing investigators, that the woman says she was drunk after visiting a bar, was approached by one of the two men and invited to a hotel room.
There she was sexually abused.
The two detainees meanwhile claimed that the young woman had consented to the sexual contact, the newspaper writes.
Only on Saturday were 13 tourists from Germany arrested for alleged arson in Mallorca.
