Brazil: at least 25 deaths from heavy rains in the northeast

(ANSA) - BRAZIL, MAY 28 - At least 25 people died following the heavy rains that hit the Recife region, capital of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco since last Tuesday.

State authorities report it.

"There have been 25 deaths today" in various areas of the region, a local civil protection source said.
