Kamala Harris, we need a ban on assault weapons

(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MAY 28 - "We need a ban on assault weapons".

This was stated by US vice president Kamala Harris to Buffalo for the funeral of one of the victims of the super market massacre.

Assault weapons have "the goal of killing many people quickly. They are weapons of war that they have not placed in civil society," says Harris.

The massacres "cannot continue in our country and we should have the courage to do something about weapons," she adds.

"Our society is governed by rules, many of which have been set up to promote security and common order."
