After the cancellation of his anniversary tour "20 Years Man" due to a corona disease, Herbert Grönemeyer wrote a handwritten letter to his fans.
'We were ready to party.
Such crap," wrote the singer on Saturday in the letter published on Instagram.
The concerts should have started on Thursday in Hanover.
However, Grönemeyer himself, band members and employees became infected with the corona virus.
Therefore, the tour was canceled entirely.
In his letter, Grönemeyer also gave insights into his state of health.
"This virus shows its tough side, it eats and tears," he wrote.
He said it was "embarrassing to lie around doing nothing and waiting for things to get better."
Grönemeyer wrote about the canceled concerts that he was very touched and pained to see "how many people have been trying to prepare the best possible evening for a year, how many people wanted to come and how this situation has now caused everything to burst and how sad it is for so many.«
They were all "vaccinated several times, were tested beforehand and yet it hit us now." That was "very bitter".
Apparently it is not possible to make up for the canceled concerts later in the year.
There is “a lack of availability of stadiums, staff, stage and technical equipment” – because many events that were canceled during the Corona period are now taking place with a delay.
