Strengthen the collaboration between cross-border regions, but above all aim at strategic cooperation plans for companies with regard to the circular economy, innovation and research, promoting interoperability and good exchange practices.

They are the central points of the European Circuit project, of which the Liguria Region is the leader (Piedmont Region, Valle d'Aosta and Paca Region in France, with Metropole Nice Cote d'Azur, Unige, Regno, CCI Savoie are the other project partners) the results of which were presented to the Imperia Chamber of Commerce.

A project that has centered on innovation between border regions.

All with the same fil rouge: doing business, creating a system aiming at digitization and an increasingly circular economy.

The Circuit Project,

which is part of the European cross-border cooperation program between Italy and France, started in October 2018 and ended in May 2022. Four years during which the partners worked to find shared strategies between Regions and support structures for research and entrepreneurship.

"In full compliance with the Quirinal Treaty, in the context of cross-border cooperation between Italy and France Alcotra - comments the councilor for economic development of the Liguria Region, Andrea Benveduti - we have created, together with the chamber system, the Circuit project, in order to the digital and sustainable growth of our companies, from a network perspective ".

And precisely with a view to networking and strengthening the knowledge of the so-called creative workspaces and to develop physical and virtual venues where supply and demand meet, two digital platforms have been created.

The Ligurian one "Open Innovation Liguria" and the French one, "Actif".

In this way, companies can talk to each other, exchange data and information, share needs and proposals and see the opportunities offered by the calls to access European funds.

All with a single account to go towards the ecological transition above all.

The interoperability between digital platforms thus makes it possible to increase comparison and stimulate co-design.

"With this project we have strengthened the ties between the Chambers of Commerce and the Regions of the border area - comments the president of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce,

Luigi Attanasio - aiming to develop new services to help our companies grow and support them in their innovation processes and harmonizing activities on the subject of digitization and green transition and is proof of collaboration with the regional administration ''.

Progetto Circuito has also made it possible to work on creative workspaces, as aggregators of ideas, on the circular economy in the frontier area but also to think about the next challenges.

That is the opportunities given by the programming of funds of the Interreg Alcotra program, 2021-2077.

And the president of the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce, Enrico Lupi underlines how “the Circuit project has laid the foundations to consolidate the experiments started with it in the new programming of the Interreg 2021-2027 Funds.

The aim is to structure the offer of cross-border joint services that allow companies to collaborate, both physically and virtually, through digital platforms ".

The Ligurian regional councilor for development, Andrea Benveduti, is satisfied.

"There have been many opportunities for involving companies and the world of research in the cross-border area with the aim of reducing the distance between research and business and promoting technology transfer", said the regional councilor for development Andrea Benveduti.

"I concentrate - he added - on three results: the 800 participants in the webinars carried out by the Chamber system of the cross-border regions dedicated to European funding and to accompanying companies towards economic, environmental and social sustainability;

the 180 entrepreneurs involved during the 2021 edition of Greendaus pollutec, an event dedicated to the circular economy held in Lyon;

interoperability between the French platform Actif and Open innovation Liguria. The 500 profiles inserted on the platform are an exceptional example of impact on the territory but also of integration and consistency in the use of financial instruments made available by the European Union ".
