(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 30 - A French journalist was killed after a car was hit near Severodonetsk.
"Journalist, Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff was in Ukraine to demonstrate the reality of war. On board a humanitarian convoy, alongside civilians forced to flee to escape Russian bombs, he was fatally shot. I share the pain of his family, loved ones, and of the colleagues of Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff, to whom I extend my condolences. Those who guarantee the difficult mission of informing on theaters of operations, would like to reiterate here the unconditional support of France ": the French president, Emmanuel Macron, writes on Twitter.
The regional governor of Lugansk, Serhiy Gaidai, as the Guardian reports, said: "Today our armored evacuation vehicle was on its way to pick up 10 people from the area and it ended up under enemy fire. The shrapnel from the grenades pierced the armor of the car, a fatal wound in the neck was received by an accredited French journalist who was making a report on the evacuation, a policeman on patrol was saved by a helmet ".
